Esta semana em Conta-nos a História, temos a Ana Raimundo, entre nós conhecida por
fric de mentol, a contar-nos a história por detrás de uma serigrafia numa noite especial.
On this weeks Tell us the Story feature, we have Ana Raimundo, also known as fric de mentol, telling us the story behind a screen print made on a very special night.
Há sempre algo por detrás dos meus trabalhos, geralmente representam um pouco do quotidiano, o que anda à volta, pormenores que ficaram, cores que se querem mostrar… Escolhi particularmente esta serigrafia porque foi feita numa noite peculiar, cheia de coincidências.
There's always something behind my work, usually I represent a bit of the everyday life, what goes around, details, colors that I want to share… I chose this particular screen print because it was made in a peculiar night, full of coincidences. 
O esboço já tinha algum tempo, não sei precisar, representava uma cena familiar, a 3, numa noite de preguiça e pulgas no sofá. Em Dezembro último a noite estava quente, estranhamente, parecia uma noite de Verão, daquelas em que gosto de ficar até tarde de volta de tinta e inspiração. Com um esboço apetecível de transformar em obra final, decidi deitar mãos às canetas de carbono e fazer a matriz (original) para a serigrafia.
The sketch had some time, it was a familiar scene, the three in a night of laziness and fleas on the couch. Strangely, seemed like a summer night, those which I like to stay up late around ink and inspiration. With an attractive sketch I decided to start making the master (the original).
A noite continuava quente, com sorte iria secar depressa e estar pronta para imprimir no papel. Tempo de pausa de um lado, aproveito para dar uma vista de olhos no computador, responder a alguns e-mails e postar parvoíces online.
Não consegui fazer muito do que queria, a conexão de internet foi abaixo e, 3 segundos mais tarde, vi o monitor a tremer, e eu também tremi, sentada na cadeira. Ao mesmo tempo ouço, bem alto, vindo de outra divisão: “Hei! O sofá está a tremer.” Foi rápido, quando pensei na hipótese de ser um sismo já tinha acabado mas ainda assim, temendo uma réplica, saltei para baixo da mesa onde estava o projecto a secar e gritei: “ Hei! Deve ser gelatina.”
Que tenha dado conta não houve réplicas, soltámos umas boas gargalhadas com a ‘cena’, acabáramos de sentir o 1º sismo na nossa existência, e o sofá também. Na noite em que estava de volta de tinta e de um sofá. A serigrafia foi acabada nessa noite, o título não podia ser outro que não ‘Hei! O sofá está a tremer”!
The night was still warm, with luck it would dry quickly and be ready to be printed on paper. While it was drying, I started to work in other things at the computer, answering some emails and posting silly things online.
I didn’t make much, the internet connection went down and 3 seconds later I saw the monitor flicker, and I was shook, sitting in the chair. At the same time I heard, from the other room: 'heyyy, the sofa is shakingggg'
It was all very fast and when I thought it could be an earthquake it had ended, but I jumped down the table and yelled, "Hey! Must be jelly”. No more replicas were felt and we let out some laughs with the all 'scene', we had just felt the first earthquake on our existence, and the sofa was there too.
The screen print was finished that night; the title could not be other than “Hey! The sofa is shaking"!

Eu lembro-me do que estava a fazer neste dia, e nada de sismo para mim. No Norte de Portugal não se sentiu e estava na véspera de visitar a Mina da Panasqueira.

I remember what I was doing this day, I didn't feel the earthquake. I was at North since I was visiting the Panasqueira Mine the next day.
