Weirdness

Quando apareci na última feira com este anel, a minha companheira de feiras disse-me:
"Fazes coisas tão estranhas!".
Eu sei que ele é estranho, aliás, quando enclausurei a conta no arame turquesa a intenção era fazer um anel, mas depois achei que ficaria demasiado grande. Andei com a conta no bolso umas horas e, no dia seguinte, olhei para ela e percebi mesmo que tinha de ser um anel.
Podem odiá-lo ou amá-lo, mas este anelito não passa despercebido em lado nenhum!

When I arrived to my last craft fair with this ring, my friend told me:
"You always make the strangest things!"
I know its weird, when I wrapped the big orange bead in the turquoise knitted wire, my first thought was making a ring. Then I thought it may look a little too big. I put it in my pocket and thought about it all day. After I woke up, hours before the fair, I just knew it had to be a ring.
You can hate it, or love it. But this baby wont get by unnoticed!

My Etsy Favorite Sellers #1

I thought about making a post about my favorite esty sellers now and then, a long time ago, but yesterday SandFibers bought me a ring and that was pretty special to me, since she's one of the first sellers I found on Etsy, and I've been stalking admiring her work ever since.
So I decided to start this new feature with her.



Carol Dean it's her name, and she lives in Anthony, New Mexico. She grew up in Germany and Belgium, and her father is German, so she's almost one of us, Europeans :)
Her work with beads is so beautiful and I think she's got a really good eye for color combination.
I just love her bracelets!




Besides being an amazing artist, Carol is so nice!

Pulseira Preta e Turquesa

Já tinha feito esta pulseira há algum tempo, mas esqueci-me dela no fundo da caixa, pois aguardava um fecho.
É de longe uma das peças mais fora do normal que fiz, e gosto bastante do resultado.
É mais larga do que o normal, e as contas de vidro turquesa, ovaladas, dão um toque especial a esta pulseira, perfeita para o Verão.





I've made this bracelet for a while now, but I forgot in in a box, waiting for a clasp.
It's by far one of the most unusual pieces I've made and I really like the result.
It's wider than usual, and I think the oval shaped turquoise glass beads give a special touch to it, perfect for Summer!

R.I.P. 1994 - 2008

Tenho estado um pouco ausente, os dias têm andado de loucos, e agora não tenho internet em casa..
E apesar de andar a passar por uma fase de azar, o pior mesmo que aconteceu foi o meu carro, o meu Renault Twingo de 1994, ter falecido na última Quinta-Feira... Estou triste.

Mostro-vos os brincos e o anel, feitos de vidro do mar, que já estão na Dinamarca com a nova dona!
Tenho mais uns vidrinhos para fazer outras experiências, que mostrarei.
Amanhã, Rage Against The Machine (e eu que ando tão cansada)...


I've been away for a while, crazy days and now I don't have internet at home...
I've been having some bad luck lately, but the worst thing was that my car, my 1994 little Renault Twingo died last Thursday... I'm sad.

But, I'm here to show you the sea glass ring and earrings that already are with their owner in Denmark!
I have a few more sea glass to experiment, and I'll show you later.
