Easter Weekend | Fim de semana da Páscoa

 

This Easter weekend I went for a little trip. Lousã Mountains and Serra da Estrela (in Portugal). It snowed a little!!! But by Sunday the weather was really nice (when we came back home...)

Neste fim de semana da Páscoa fomos passear pela Serra da Lousã e Serra da Estrela. Chegou a nevar na sexta feira! No Domingo lá clareou o tempo, mas já era altura de voltar para casa...

Levo sempre as minhas agulhas nestas viagens, para me ir entretendo a caminho das estradas que já conheço quase de cor. Então este fim de semana fiz estes brincos:

This is a story of boy meets girl....

I'm a sob. I love romantic stories. I specially like love stories that don't end like "and they lived happily ever after" like we're expecting to.
Sometimes people live happily ever after without being together. (but maybe I'm spoiling the movie to you)

I really liked this movie, it was one of the best movies I've seen in years.

And I too love the Smiths, to die by your side it's such an heavenly way to die....

Organic *

I've been creating new things lately.
I start to notice that I'm going trough a clean, organic phase with my work.
It must be because I feel so peaceful.

Ultimamente tenho andado a criar novas peças.
Comecei a reparar que ultimamente tenho andado numa fase mais leve, limpa e orgânica.
Deve ser por me andar a sentir tão em paz ultimamente.

Time Black Hole

I kept telling myself, during the thesis months (specially on the last couple of months when I bred, ate and slept thesis), that when the damn thing was over I would have a lot of free time to do a lot of amazing things.
I even used to daydream about those glorious days of knitting, watching TV, having a life.. Planned on exercise more, even take ceramic lessons, or dancing lessons! Oh I would be so happy and creative and fluffy at all times!

Then it was over. I wrote it, I printed it, I delivered it to my advisor, I edited, I reprinted it, I delivered it to the jury, I made the presentation, I defended it, I reprinted it again, I wrote an article, I was done.

2 months have passed and I can't tell you where that extra time has gone. I can't find it.

I think there's a time black hole in my life.

Even so, I've been knitting. My Circle Earrings are back on my shop.

A new wire color I bought a while ago, soft gold. I looooooove it.

Green Spring

I have been irritated, moody and grumpy for the last whole week.
I spent last weekend in bed/sofa with the flu and I don't feel quite well yet. I am a terrible sick person. I have no patience.

In the meantime, I miss Spring. So much. It almost hurts. We have been having these sometimes sunny days (still cold, but sunny), with this insincere sun :(

And I've been cooked up in an office.

Since I miss Spring so much, I took some photos today of green items! Enjoy!

Adoro listas.
Poderá dizer-se até que sou uma "list person". O que gosto mais nas listas é de ir riscando os items à medida que vou completanto uma tarefa.
Nos últimos dias não me tenho sentido muito eu, então hoje decidi acordar cedo (por incrível que pareça acordei até antes do despertador, depois de ontem me ter deitado já passava das 5h da manhã - lembrei-me que tinha de acabar uma pulseira) e iniciar uma lista das coisas que tinha de fazer hoje sem falta, e uma lista das coisas que tenho de fazer até à próxima semana.

I love lists.
You can even say I'm a list kind of person. The thing I like most in lists is crossing over an item, after a task is completed.
I haven't been myself on the last few days, so I decided to start the day earlier today and made a list with the things I had to do today and a list of things that have to be made until next week.

Hoje acabei duas encomendas, enviei outra pelo correio (o que implicou um ida aos CTT), fui visitar uma amiga que me pediu um favor, escrevi uma carta às Finanças (*suspiro*), retribui uma chamada que já andava a adiar, listei uma nova peça na etsy e... estou a tratar de outro item da lista: um novo post no blogue.



Today I finished two custom orders, send another one in the mail (that made me go to the P.O. - another task), went to visit a friend that needed something from me, wrote a letter to the Finances (*sigh*), returned a call that I supposed to a while ago, listed something new on etsy and.. I'm working on another item of the list: to blog.

Tantas sugestões boas! Tornaram a decisão muito dificíl... Mas, apesar de não vos ter dito, planeio fazer estes brincos em várias cores, então pretendia um nome mais geral, que não estivesse associado ao verde. Gostei imenso do mungo, lentilhas, líquen, mas procurava algo mais geral.

I was going to list these earrings, but when I got to the tittle part I blanked.
What should I name these? Any thoughts?

Ia agora listar estes brincos na Etsy, mas quando cheguei ao título, bloqueei. Que raio de nome lhes hei-de dar? Alguém tem sugestões? (pode ser em Português que eu traduzo, mas preferia em Inglês)

São feitos com "contas" tricotadas à mão com arame verde e depois é-lhes dada a forma de um disco.

Encomendas

São raras as vezes em que tiro fotografias às encomendas.
Na verdade, eu não gosto da parte de tirar fotografias e editá-las (ja repararm?), mas de vez em quando tiro e acho que estes artigos também merecem ser mostrados.

I hardly never take pictures to custom orders.
Actually, I hate the "taking pictures and editing them" part (have you noticed?), but sometimes I do and I thins these items deserved to be shown too.

Por acaso esta encomenda surgiu de uma em vermelho que fiz e nunca tirei fotografia também.
Gostei do resultado, mas estas flores são demasiado trabalhosas.

Flower Brooch in Black. Actually, this order came from a red one I made that I also didn't photographed. I like the result, but the flowers are just too much work.

Starry Night

O desafio da semana passada na European Street Team, da Etsy, foi sugerido pela Star of The East e consistia em fazer uma peça inspirada num dos meus quadros preferidos, Starry Night/Noite Estrelada, do Van Gogh.


Imediatamente pensei em tentar fazer estrelinhas, que nunca tinha tentado.
E adorei o resultado! Estas peças já estão vendidas, mas já tenho uma novidade à espera de ser fotografada que vou colocar aqui amanhã em primeira mão!

I thought about trying to make some stars, and how I loved the result!!
All the items above are sold, but I made something new, with these stars, that I'm going to blog here tomorrow in first hand!

R.I.P. 1994 - 2008

Tenho estado um pouco ausente, os dias têm andado de loucos, e agora não tenho internet em casa..
E apesar de andar a passar por uma fase de azar, o pior mesmo que aconteceu foi o meu carro, o meu Renault Twingo de 1994, ter falecido na última Quinta-Feira... Estou triste.

Mostro-vos os brincos e o anel, feitos de vidro do mar, que já estão na Dinamarca com a nova dona!
Tenho mais uns vidrinhos para fazer outras experiências, que mostrarei.
Amanhã, Rage Against The Machine (e eu que ando tão cansada)...


I've been away for a while, crazy days and now I don't have internet at home...
I've been having some bad luck lately, but the worst thing was that my car, my 1994 little Renault Twingo died last Thursday... I'm sad.

But, I'm here to show you the sea glass ring and earrings that already are with their owner in Denmark!
I have a few more sea glass to experiment, and I'll show you later.

Já alguns pares, são tão divertidos de fazer! Gosto imenso de como ficam elegantes, leves e originais.

Brincos

Foi uma experiência e gostei muito do resultado.
O arame que comprei desta vez é muito maleável, apesar de demorar mais tempo e das bobines enrolarem um bocadinho umas nas outras.
Parecem duas folhinhas, muito leves e elegantes!


Já planeio fazer mais e mais e mais, estou a gostar de tricotar arame sem missangas!
